Plan now to enjoy music of the holiday season by attending the Carols & Cantatas concert on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 7:30pm and Sunday, Dec. 3 at 3pm in The Kay White Theater! Ninety-five singers (including a Youth Chorus) and thirty orchestra members will entertain concert-goers with traditional carols and two cantatas.

Artistic Director Dr. Gary D. Cannon will present his popular pre-concert lectures 45 minutes prior to the start of both concerts.

OneNiteStand is gaining ground with more rocking tunes and incredible vocals by Terri Cole – and the good news is, they’re ready to show off the new polish! This band is ‘nothin’ but rock & blues with the emphasis on classic rock tunes as well as some originals sprinkled in there.

Island officials, celebrities and rock star wannabes are polishing up their air guitars for VoV’s Third Annual KVSH Birthday Bash, Friday, November 10, at the Red Bike.  It’s going to be a Lip Sync Battle hosted by Arlette Moody – Vashon’s version of Catherine Zeta-Jones – and starring the people you see or hear from regularly…in a whole new light.

Shook Twins return to the island November 15th at the Vashon Theatre to play an intimate DUO set at a fundraiser for Puerto Rico! Special Guest Islander Sarah Christine will be starting out the show. Funds raised will be sent directly to the island by the National Boricua Human Rights Network (NBHRN), an organization composed of Puerto Ricans in the US and their supporters that educates and mobilizes the Puerto Rican community,

When Gregg Curry emigrated to the Northwest from Alabama he brought along a satchel of songs and southern charm to the safe confines of Vashon Island and found likeminded soul to form a new band Gregg Curry and Ragged Glory. The seven-piece ensemble deliver raw, energized roots rock, alt country and Americana.

Curry and Co. teamed up with acclaimed producer, engineer and musical guru Martin Feveyear to record their second full length album, The Last Train, set for release at this show.

Steve Minzel, 35 years behind the keyboard, has played all over the Pacific Northwest.  Leslie Shelton, 40 years on bass guitar and a vocalist in the band who has written and recorded an album and back in the day toured with Bo Diddly and from 1990 to 2000 played with Bill Brown and the Kingbees.

A protégé of the Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar legends, including the late master Uncle Sonny Chillingworth, Makana has dedicated his life to perpetuating as well as evolving the traditional Hawaiian art form of Slack Key or “Ki Ho’alu”.

Over the course of the last 15 years, Rocky Votolato has produced some of the most powerful music to come out of Seattle, an impressive canon anchored by earnest, lyrical songwriting, and delivered in a unique indie-folk-punk style that has evolved out of the Pacific Northwest music scene he was raised in. He has matured over the course of eight increasingly accomplished solo albums, and writes songs that seem to have been scratched into a boxcar wall by a worn-out and lonesome ghost.

During the first week of October, world-class musicians from many genres will come together in an ambitious project…to record and perform a full night of music…in a week.  Brought together by local composer and fretless bassist, Jason Everett who has been named an “Artist in Residence” by the prestigious non-profit Jack Straw Productions, the project will capture high-quality audio and video performances of his compositions which are inspired by his love for classical, jazz and Indian Fusion music.

Local singer-songwriter, Allison Shirk, returns to the Red Bike on Friday, August 11th at 8:30pm to perform original songs and cover tunes for her birthday bash!

Local singer-songwriter, Allison Shirk, returns to the Red Bike on Friday, August 11th at 8:30pm to perform original songs and cover tunes for her birthday bash! The date is her actual birthday and she hopes to celebrate the day doing what she loves the most, making music and being with friends and loved ones. Allison plays music that blends her Texas country roots with her love for vocal jazz and blues. After a successful kickstarter campaign in 2015, Allison has been promoting her debut album, Break My Heart and performing around the Northwest as a solo artist and with a band.

The extremely popular and free outdoor concert series will begin on Thursday, August 3rd and run through Thursday, August 31st. All concerts start at 7pm and are held in Ober Park on Vashon Island. Enjoy live music performances from today’s top talent in country rock, urban Latin, roots reggae, spoken funk rock and big band performing against one of Vashon’s most beautiful outdoor backdrops.

What we are: Now in its third season, Chautauqua Music Festival was started to support the elementary and middle school music programs on Vashon Island.  To date, the festival has raised over $14,000 to support young musicians who lack the means to buy instruments, sheet music and other expenses.

Cherrywood Station is Gus and Camille Reeves. The duo met in Portland, OR, and, after singing gospel tunes together a cappella the first night they met, they never stopped collaborating.
Both Gus and Camille are prolific songwriters who carry the torch of American music by performing classic and original numbers with the acoustic sounds of soul, country, blues, and folk.
Their first E.P., Soup Can Telephone, is now finally available and includes five original tracks.

The Georgetown Orbits boast a heavy regimen of traditional Ska and soulful Reggae. They have gained international attention as one of the few bands to pay tribute to the sounds of Jamaican Ska, a style which has gained notable popularity in Seattle since the band’s conception in late 2004.
